In Conversation: at Close Ltd., Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset

A unique opportunity to join us in a discussion led by artist Brian Rice, in conversation with Prue O’Day. Brian and Prue met in the late 60’s and we are honoured to see them re-united here on the occasion of Brian Rice’s wonderful exhibition: Red, Black and White. Brian will be defining the subtle differences of working in print as a painter rather than a printmaker, as well as engaging in the development of his work which spans a 60 year career.

For those of you who don’t know Prue O’Day, she, with her husband Dom Anderson, established Anderson O’Day in 1971. In 1986, Prue opened Anderson O’Day Gallery in Portobello Road, London. Later in 2000 she co-founded The Wonderful Fund, a five-year project to develop a collection of contemporary art marking the new millennium. Prue has chaired The Showroom for seven years to 2013, mentored Glasgow Museum of Art for the Art Fund International. She has been a guest lecturer and external examiner on the Sotheby’s Institute MA, and was also a regular contributor to Professional Development courses at London art schools. Prue is on the Council of the ICA London, the Gifts and Acquisitions Committee at The Hepworth, Wakefield, an active supporter of Artangel, and a grandmother to four lovely children.

Please join us if you can. This event is free of charge but those who want to can contribute to our Ukraine Appeal Fund. We look forward to seeing you.
